Medical Devices and Supplies Fees

Please refer to the following documents for the applicable fees:

2- Resolution No. (24) of 2021, amending certain provisions of Resolution No. (20) of 2016 concerning NHRA fees


Medical Device Importation Fees through OFOQ

1- Create the importation application on the OFOQ system, upload the required documents and save the application.

2- Send an email to MDRFees@nhra.bh requesting the payment notice. Include the OFOQ application reference number, Commercial Registration number and the applicant’s contact details.

3- The applicant will receive a notification by email and/or phone with a link to complete the payment through Fawateer.

4- Once the payment has been completed, the application status will be updated from Stored to Requested, and the application will proceed for review.

Payment Process

Once a Notice to Pay (NTP) is issued, the applicable fees can be paid through the Fawateer Offline Direct Bill Payment Service. Customers and companies can access Fawateer through bank branches, internet banking, mobile banking applications and BenefitPay.

Please follow the steps below:

1- Log in to your internet banking, mobile banking application or BenefitPay.

2- Search for National Health Reg Authority or NHRA in the Fawateer billers list under the Medical and Health category.

3- Enter the total amount stated in the NTP and complete the payment. No bank charges apply.

If more than one NTP has been issued, a separate Fawateer transaction must be completed for each NTP.

Pre Market


First, before importing or registering medical devices, you must be registered as an authorized representative in NHRA by applying and obtaining a license to import and register medical devices.


Secondly, classify medical devices by making sure that they are listed under medical devices or other category by applying for classification.


Third, submitting an application to register medical devices to facilitate the importation process into the Kingdom of Bahrain by applying for registration of medical devices.

On Market

Controlling medical device importation at the ports of entry where importers must submit an application through Ofoq website and submitting the required documents to obtain NHRA approval before importing medical devices.

Regulating advertisements for medical devices based on Decision (48) 2020, Article (10) “It is forbidden for any person to market or advertise the medical device and product unless obtaining a license from the Authority.
